Breach of Contract

Contracts come in many forms. Whether formal or informal, written or verbal, every contract carries with it the implication that each party will conform to the promises made within the contract. A breach of contract occurs when one party fails to uphold one or more of the promises. Not every breach of contract between Atlanta businesses requires the services of a contract lawyer; however, when litigation is unavoidable, it is a good idea to seek out a contract lawyer who will take the time to research the fine points of the contract in question and answer all your questions.

Depending on the severity of the contract breach, your lawyer may be able to obtain one or more successful outcomes in your case, some of which include:

  • - Compensatory damages – This is a monetary reimbursement designed to compensate you for any losses that you may have incurred as a result of the contract breach (except for emotional distress).
  • - Rescission – If a rescission is decided upon, the contract is dissolved; any money that originally exchanged hands is returned to the original owner and the involved parties are excused from any further action on the contract.
